Organisers of the 37th Athens Authentic Marathon announced that a total of 60,000 runners from Greece and abroad have registered so far to run in the event on November 10.
The announcement was made during a press conference on Thursday in the presence of Deputy Sports Minister Lefteris Avgenakis, the Attica region director, mayors and sports representatives.
According to organisers, this year the marathon will also include a 10-km race on Saturday, November 9.
Last year’s (2018) registered runners totalled 55,000. The race starts at Marathon and concludes at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, a course of 42 kilometres.
