Hosted by the Hellenic Club and sponsored by the Bank of Sydney, a Pink Ribbon Breakfast event will take place at Beta Bar this Thursday, October 24, to raise awareness about breast cancer.

October is breast cancer awareness month and to support the campaign the breakfast at Beta Bar has been organised to help increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure.

Breast cancer awareness month is a yearly campaign that intends to educate people about the importance of early screening, tests and more.

Breast cancer survivor and Bank of Sydney staff member Connie Kalathas will be a guest speaker at the event. “I’ve been with Bank of Sydney for 18 and a half years and am currently the Branch Operations Manager at Mile End Branch in Adelaide. I would like to thank Bank of Sydney for the “Pink Ribbon Charity Breakfast” and for their support, friendships and well wishes throughout my 2-year journey of breast cancer,” says Connie.

“I am truly honoured. Receiving the call from our CEO Miltos Michaelas really struck a chord and I felt overwhelmed to share with my story with everyone,” she adds.

The event is free, donations are welcome and there will be merchandise available for sale on the day. Guests are also asked to wear something pink.
