China’s President Xi Jinping received a special tour of the Greek pavilion at the China International Import Expo 2019, by the Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday.

The Greek PM gave the Chinese leader the tour of the Greek pavilion after the opening ceremony of the international exhibition in Shanghai where Greece is one of the honoured countries of the exhibition.

Mitsotakis, accompanied by Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for the Economic Diplomacy Costas Fragogiannis, showed China's President and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi around the pavilion, with the Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness and the Foreign Minister of Italy Luigi di Maio also among those present.

On the last day of his official visit to China, Mitsotakis met with representatives of major Chinese enterprises and invited them to invest in Greece after outlining Greece's comparative advantages.

Specifically, he met with the managing director of Alibaba, Daniel Yong Zhang and discussed Greece promotion via the e-platform Ali Express, which has 700 million clients.

According to government sources, Zhange said that the sales record in one day is 30 billion US dollars with 1 billion goods transported and he requested the sale of Greek products through the platform.
