Over 900 illegals reach Lesvos within days, as island hosts more than 16,000 migrants

The North Aegean Police Directorate on Thursday reported that more than 900 illegal immigrants had reached the island of Lesvos in the last three days.

According to authorities, some 224 migrants had reached Lesvos' shores by 1:00 pm on Thursday, 160 on Wednesday, 317 on Tuesday and 241 on Monday, reaching a total of 942 refugees who crossed over to the island since Monday alone.

All were taken to the Moria refugee reception and identification facility which hosts some 16,023 people.
