Thessaloniki’s official Christmas tree was lit up for 2019 in the city’s famous Arsitotelous Square.
On Saturday evening, the official lighting ceremony took place in the heart of Thessaloniki, with music, sparkles, and sounds of the Symphony.
In front of a large crowd which was made up of thousands of locals, Thessaloniki’s Mayor Konstantinos Zervas launched this year's "Enchanted Holidays" event and introduced the performers including Alkistis Protopsaltis and the Symphony Orchestra, who entertained the crowd in a very festive manner.
The impressive 17-foot-tall tree features thousands of lights and will be displayed in the city’s main centre throughout the entire festive season.
