Orphaned and abandoned children from ‘Ark of the World’ helped Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his wife, First Lady Mareva Grabowski Mitsotaki, decorate the official Christmas Tree at Maximos Mansion in Athens.
The Maximos Mansion has been the official seat of the Prime Minister of Greece since 1982. It is located in downtown Athens, near Syntagma Square. The building houses the offices of the Head of the Greek Government.
The young kids were invited by the Greek Prime Minister to Maximos Mansion, where they handmade decorations which were then hung on the tree together with the Prime Minister. The children had a very enjoyable time creating Christmas decorations and at the end of the day, were each given special gifts to take back with them.
‘Ark of the World’ was established by Father Antonios Papanikolaou and it is an organisation that mainly helps orphans and abandoned children. So far, ‘Ark of the World’ has helped and educated hundreds of children, with most of them integrating into Greek society once they “graduate” from the organisation.
The Greek PM and the First Lady spoke with all the children and asked them about their interests and what they loved most in the world.
Prime Minister Mitsotakis also congratulated the staff from ‘Ark of the World’ for their great work and expressed his support for their love telethon which is taking place today, Monday, December 16th, 2019.
