The Greek government announced that the late great composer Thanos Mikroutsikos will be honoured with a State funeral, to take place at the First Cemetery of Athens at 2:30pm today, Monday December 30, 2019.
The decision for a State sponsored funeral was announced as a joint ministerial decision of Interior Ministers Panagiotis Theodorikakou and Finance Minister Christos Staikouras.
The great artist's body will be on display from 10:3 am today in the ceremony room for the final farewell.
In lieu of a wreath, the family asks that any money be donated to the unaccompanied refugee children in the Moria camp in Lesvos, through the account:
