A local Priest dived into the sea on Holy Epiphany to catch the Crucifix as tradition dictates after none of the attending parishioners had the courage to dive into the freezing water.
The incident took place in New Fthiotida, on Kenourgio beach at the Catherine camping site.
The brave priest in question, Father Ioannis Eleftheriou, noticing that nobody was prepared to dive into the water due to cold weather - not to mention it had also started snowing - decided to dive in himself!
