After defeating Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego, Nick Kyrgios is through to the Australian Open second round.
Kyrgios defeated Sonego in straight sets: 6-2 7-6(3) 7-6(1), on his favourite Melbourne Arena.
“Obviously it’s been a pretty emotional couple of months for all of us so I wanted to come out here and put on a good performance. I was really excited,” Kyrgios stated post-match.
Tennis legend John McEnroe also announced that he will pledge $1000 per set win for the rest of Nick's campaign.
