Greek Top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas' Australian Open journey comes to an end (PICS)

World No. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas was defeated by Canadian Milos Raonic in the third round of the Australian Open 2020 on Friday night.

The 29-year-old Canadian is known for his big serves and fired 19 aces in a 7-5, 6-4, 7-6 (2) win over Tsitsipas.

After three sets in 2 hours and 30 minutes, the game concluded.

In the post interview, the 21-year-old revealed that playing Raonic was quite difficult. "He's playing forehands from all over the court, and you don't really know where you should stand exactly, because he's just so fast and just turning around, hitting those forehands,” Tsitsipas said.

“Kind of reminds me of a match I had with Kyrgios a few weeks ago in Brisbane. Not much going on from the baseline, mostly serves. Serve is great, one of the best in the game. I felt a bit stupid returning his serves. I felt like I was slow. My anticipation was not there,” he added.

Despite the disappointment of his early exit, Tsitsipas noted that he was much better equipped to deal with defeat than he was last year.

“That's life. I have learned to deal with it. Last year I wasn't able to deal with it. I was heartbroken after my semi-final loss. This year is different. I'll just keep going. We'll win it next year. That's fine," he concluded.
