Authorities at Trikala prison confiscated items dropped off by drones on Sunday into the prison yard.
Items confiscated included mobile phones, sim cards and related paraphernalia including illicit drugs.
Following the attempt to smuggle the material, prison officers launched an investigation which led to the arrest of three inmates.
