By 4 years ago

There is a health concern for students from ten Greek schools currently visiting Italy on school excursions, given the recent dramatic increase of reported coronavirus Covid-19 cases over the weekend.

According to the Ministry of Education, students from two schools are visiting Milan, while the other eight are in central and southern Italy.

Upon their return to Greece, the students will not be quarantined.

Italy, along with the Czech Republic, is a popular destination for Greek school excursions.

The Ministry also announced that no more excursions to Italy will take place for the time being, until the country has the coronavirus under control.

On Friday, the Italian Government declared a state of emergency to prevent the deadly virus from spreading.

At the time this article was written, Austria declared that it closed its borders to Italy.
