Much-loved Greek actor Kostas Voutsas to be laid to rest on Friday

The funeral service of much-loved Greek actor Kostas Voutsas, who died on Wednesday at the age of 88, will be held at the Metropolis of Athens on Friday at 11 am.

Fans and the entire public will also be given the chance to bid farewell and pay their final respects to Voutsas at the adjacent chapel from 9 am to 7:30 pm today Thursday, 27th of February.

One of the last greats from the Golden Age of cinema, Voutsas appeared in more than 200 films, plays and television series in a career spanning over six decades.

Bringing much laughter, warmth, and smiles to generations of Greeks worldwide, the municipality of Athens announced it has donated a plot at the First Cemetery of Athens to his family, to honor the beloved actor's enormous contribution to Greek arts and culture.

Voutsas’ family has asked for donations in his memory may be made to the Hellenic Transplant Organization (EOM) or the "Merimna" non-profit organization, as the famous actor loved life and children.

Sadly, the actor and his fourth wife Aliki Katsavou who is aged 44, would have been celebrating their 4- year anniversary today. The couple tied the knot on February 27, 2016, and have an 8-year-old son Fivos.
