Austria has shown its solidarity with Greece on the migrant crisis front, as the country’s Special Operations Tactical Unit – EKO Cobra has been patrolling the Greek Evros border for the past few days.
Named one of the best Special Forces units in the World, Austrian EKO Cobra are providing assistance to the Greek forces, preventing illegal migrants entering into Greek territory.
EKO Cobra's special vehicle is installed with thermal cameras and tracking systems that is expected to play a decisive role in the "shielding" of the Greek border.
Last week Austrian Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz thanked Greece for protecting Europe’s borders.
"Austria will contribute with immediate additional assistance to Greece. We must do everything to keep the Greek border with Turkey closed and not give in to Erdogan's play," Kurz told Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
