In an attempt to comply with public health and safety measures as the country struggles to curb the spread of the coronavirus, Greek lawmakers on Wednesday voted on new procedural measures.

The Greek Parliament's Conference of Presidents decided that only one draft bill shall be put to vote each week, in the context of the special conditions created by the spread of the coronavirus.

According to the announcement, priority will be given to the introduction of bills relating to the management of emergency situations. Moreover, parliament debate will take place once a week, every Thursday.

The Greek parliament is already operating with a restricted number of employees to cover the main operations of the parliament and all the other departments have closed or are working with skeleton staff in other buildings.
