On a cold Wednesday afternoon, the lieutenant governor of Nea Ionia Traffic made the brutal decision to execute his ex-wife and her work colleague in a Nea Kifissia supermarket parking lot before disappearing, making the murder look like a bungled robbery.
DIAS motorcyclists who were alerted at 18:35pm yesterday, identified the lieutenant governor's black Suzuki Vitara in the area of Kifissia, where he was handcuffed and taken to the police station.
There the 35-year-old police officer was cooperative, explaining calmly; "We split. She took my children, a baby boy and my girls of 8 and 5 years old to her parents in Thebes, left them there while she made her life. I can't stand it."
According to police, the lieutenant governor from Nea Ionia made efforts to reconnect with his ex-wife.
But she was negative, and that was what angered him. He couldn't stand the rejection.
The 35-year-old who entered the police force in 2007 had previously had no problems in the service but lately his colleagues noticed that he seemed more thoughtful and distant.
Obviously in his mind he had made things clear and had made a decision.
On Wednesday afternoon, he set out to execute his creepy plan.
He got into his black Vitara and set himself up to wait in the supermarket parking lot in Archarnon Street, Nea Kifissia where his ex-wife was working.
As soon as her saw her leave the building with a colleague for a cigarette break, he approached, punched and emptied his service weapon onto the two unfortunate women who died at the scene.
