Greece’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Tuesday an announced an increase in passenger traffic in Greek airports grew 4.7% in the January-February period this year compared with the corresponding period in 2019.
The CAA said in its report that total passenger traffic was 4,376,468 in the two-month period from 4,178,269 in 2019, an increase of 198,199.
The number of flights at Greek airports totalled 42,728 (of which 23,794 domestic and 18,934 international) in the January-February period, up 1.4% from the same period in 2019.
In the two-month period the airports of Skiathos, Kalymnos and Kastoria recorded the biggest percentage increase (158.4%, 145% and 63.4%, respectively).
In February, passenger traffic totalled 2,125,705, up 4.1% from the same month in 2019.
International arrivals were 592,879, up 9.4% form 2019, while the number of flights rose 2.5% to 20,426.
