Images from the morning after a huge fire broke out on the Turkish side of the Evros border, shows no illegal immigrants at the camps or fence trying to 'storm' their way into Greece and Europe.
After Turkey opened up its border gates and Greece became under siege a month ago, significant numbers of immigrants everyday gathered in large groups at the Greek-Turkish land border, attempting to enter the country illegally.
However, overnight Turkish authorities set fire to the tents housing the illegal immigrants on their side of the border and forced them onto buses which transported them to an unknown location.
According to sources Greece's Defence Minister, Nikos Panagiotopoulos and Chief of the Hellenic Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Konstantinos Floros are on their way to the area.
Despite no illegal immigrants trying to 'tear down' the fence, Greek forces have not and will not stop patrolling and protecting the Greek border.
