Greece records 74 new coronavirus cases, death toll rises to 28

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Greece has risen to 966, according to the latest update from Health Ministry spokesperson and infectious diseases expert Professor Sotiris Tsiodras.

The total number of casualties has also risen to 28 since the virus hit Greece.

Of those who died, 23 were men and 5 were women, with an average age of 73 years. Most of these patients had underlying health issues.

Sixty-six people are in intensive care, all but one intubated, Tsiodras said, adding that 52 patients have been discharged from hospitals.

So far a total of 13,477 coronavirus tests have been carried out in Greece.
