Greek shipowner donates 1.2 million euros to help Greece combat coronavirus

The family of George Prokopiou, billionaire Greek shipowner, at the urgent request of the Greek Health Ministry has donated 1.2 million euros for the purchase of medical equipment, to fight the coronavirus in Greece.

According to Naval Chronicles, 30,000 full-length protective suits, 130,000 waterproof disposable suits, and 2,500,000 gloves, donated by the family, are currently on their way from China to Greece to serve the needs of doctors and nurses.

The equipment was ordered directly from the family of George Prokopiou, who also arranged to find, purchase and transport the necessary equipment to Greece.
