Curfew violations continue to rise in Greece

Greek authorities reported 1,916 violations of the curfew restrictions on Wednesday, imposed to stop the spread of coronavirus throughout Greece.

The majority were recorded in the region of Attica (824), on the Ionian Islands (140), on Crete (140), in Thessaloniki (137), in Western Greece (131), in the Peloponnese (108), in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (79), in Thessaly (72), on the Southern Aegean islands (69), in Central Greece (56), in Epirus (35), on the islands of the Northern Aegean (34) and in Western Macedonia (7).

It is noted that a total of 15,111 violations have been recorded since the first day of the measure on Monday, March 23.

Since the start of the lockdown on businesses like cafes, restaurants, bars, retail stores, etc., which went into effect on March 12, there has been 320 violations and 328 arrests.
