Ten countries offer to help Greece relocate more than 900 refugee children

Some ten European countries have offered to host more than 900 unaccompanied children currently living in Greece, according to government sources.

The first transfer will take place in the next two weeks with Luxembourg set to welcome eleven children, whilst Germany has expressed interest in relocating 350 children, France 300 children, Bulgaria 50, Ireland 36 and Lithuania 2.

Finland has announced that it will relocate 175 children from Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Malta, without; however, specifying the exact number it will receive from each country.

Croatia, Portugal and Belgium have also stated their intention to take unaccompanied children into their countries, but have not stated a specific number.
