Nick Kyrgios delivers food packages to those going hungry during the coronavirus crisis

Tennis star Nick Kyrgios has followed up on his word to deliver food to Australians in need amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Last week, in a heartfelt post on his Instagram page, Kyrgios urged anyone struggling during the coronavirus pandemic to “not be embarrassed” about private messaging him if they need anything.

The 24-year-old said he would be more than happy to share whatever he has.

He later posted an update on his Instagram account with boxes of essential foods in his car with the caption “Deliveries in progress”.

Over the weekend, Kyrgios’ mother, Norlaila Kyrgios shared an image to her Instagram account showing the family’s distribution centre — piles of food on the family's dining room table.

This is not the first time this year that the 24-year old has stepped up in a crisis and his charitable efforts have to be commended.

During the Australian summer of tennis, he pledged to donate $200 for every ace he hit and it was his idea of the ‘Rally for Relief’ that helped raise millions of dollars for those impacted by the devastating bushfires.
