The 16-year-old creator of “The Greek Mask Project”, Koralia Hatzigiannaki, on Thursday hand delivered 300 homemade surgical masks, which she has donated to the Evangelismos General Hospital in Athens.
The homemade masks, with the Greek flag on them, are a gesture of appreciation and support for Greece’s frontline workers, who are working tirelessly round the clock to fight the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
“These are the heroes of this crisis and we must honour them in every possible way in this struggle, especially during Easter,” Koralia stated.
The masks were received by Evangelos Balis, head of the COVID-19 unit of Evangelismos General Hospital.
The ‘delivery’ is the first from “The Greek Mask Project”, the creative action that was born during the quarantine.
