Donald Trump, Prime Minister of the United States made a phone call to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on Easter Sunday, to express his warm wishes for the feast of Christ’s Resurrection and Holy Pascha.
Patriarch Bartholomew thanked Trump for his initiative to express his wishes over the phone, but also for his country’s general interest in the issues of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
He also thanked him for his support to the American Greek Orthodox Church and society, led by Archbishop of America Elpidoforos.
The two leaders were scheduled to meet in May, but due to the pandemic, it has been postponed to next year.
