The average daily arrivals on the Greek islands for last week and the week of 13 – 19 April was zero, according to the latest report from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
From the 38,900 refugees and asylum-seekers that reside on the Aegean islands, only 19% are from Syria with the largest percentage coming from Afghanistan (49%).
Women account for 23% of the population, and children for 33% of whom more than 6 out of 10 are younger than 12 years old.
Approximately 13% of the children are unaccompanied or separated, mainly from Afghanistan.
