At a time of global uncertainty, a small group from the Music Ensembles of the Greek National Broadcasting Station (ERT), helped spread some much-needed joy through music in a unique concert in the courtyard of Attikon University Hospital, Athens.

Directed by conductor Giorgos Avramidis, eight musicians from the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra presented a special program with compositions of great Greek composers Manos Hatzidakis and Mikis Theodorakis.

This was the way ERT chose to express its gratitude to the “heroes behind the masks”, the doctors and nurses of the Greek National Health System, as well as to send a message of sympathy to those fighting the novel coronavirus.

ERT Music Ensembles will hold similar events in the coming weeks at other hospitals in Athens.
