Greek PM to address the nation about the gradual lifting of coronavirus measures

The beginning of the gradual relaxation of the coronavirus measures is set to take place today, Monday, with the opening of mortgage offices, the Magistrates’ Courts and the Court of First Instance, for specific cases.

This is likely to be followed by the opening of small shops and hairdressers next Monday, May 4, with a limit of two customers within the space.

At the end of May, restaurants, bars and cafes with outdoor areas will gradually reopen, without serving customers in the closed part of their premises.

More details about the gradual lifting will be given during the Greek Prime Minister's televised address on Tuesday afternoon.

At the time of writing, Greece has a total of 2,517 cases and 134 related deaths.

The number of people in in intensive care units around the country continued to decline, and is now 46.

A total of 64,608 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Greece.
