Mikis Theodorakis awarded Russian medal

The Russian medal "75 years since the Victory in the Great Patriotic War" was given to renowned Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, by the Russian Embassy in Athens.

According to the embassy, the ​​Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding Theodorakis with the medal.

It must be noted over the weekend, The Red Army choir uploaded a video singing Mikis Theodorakis' 'Otan Sfigoun to Xeri', to show their support to the Greek people during this coronavirus pandemic.
