Shortly before 10am, members of PAME (All Workers Militant Front) gathered for their  annual Labor Day rallies at Syntagma Square, outside Greek Parliament.

Labour Day is a celebration of labourers and the working classes.

This year's rallies was different than other years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Holding banners and red flags while wearing masks and gloves, protestors stood roughly two meters apart from each other.

"Covered mouths have a voice," was the an unofficial slogan for the rally.

Three thousand police officers were deployed to ensure the coronavirus restrictions were complied with.

The Greece government asked unions to delay public rallies by more than a week, citing the risk of infection.
