Businesses, means of transport and churches are "restarting" and are the first to see the new normality.

The industries that reopen today are: Retail stores for books, computer and telecommunications equipment, sports equipment, florists, hairdressers and barbershops, beauty salons and optometrists.

In fact, about 10% of professionals - employees and businesses who were forced to shut down due to measures to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, have returned to work.

The Ethnos newspaper has released images of this new "normality."

As of today, new rules apply to public transport.

Passengers will be guided by "passenger assistants," who will be at central metro bus stations, giving advice and guidance to the public. The aim is to avoid overcrowding but also to observe the measures.

Citizens who have purchased unlimited monthly or longer-distance travel cards and have not used them during the travel restriction period will be able to credit their card. Under no circumstances will they lose their money.

Those who have an annual card, will be given an additional bonus - a 10% discount will also apply to those who buy a new card now.

In addition, mobile phones with android functionality can also function as an automatic recharge point for personalised cards with direct purchase from the phone, without the need for the passenger to go to a ticket office or vending machine.

Suburban railway:

The Athens Suburban Railway (Piraeus - Kiato, Piraeus - Airport, Athens - Chalkida and Ano Liossia - Koropi) is also fully operational. The use of a protective mask is mandatory.

Taxi

The measure of transporting a passenger continues, with the known exceptions of transferring a parent with minor children or accompanying a person for medical reasons. The use of a protective mask is essential.

The churches opened

The image in the churches is different from the one we knew. Everyone inside must be wearing masks and some churches have had their seats removed. The regularity in the churches will return on May 18, when the faithful can attend services at a distance.

This is a difficult phase that requires special attention. The basic rule of all should be the respectful observance of the rules of personal protection, hygiene and responsibility. We wash our hands, we keep our distance and we wear masks.

At the same time, we must abide by the rules of transportation and social distancing. We do not move unnecessarily, we do not leave the prefecture and we do not congregate in groups of more than 10 people.
