Reopening Glyfada Beach

Mayor of Glyfada, Giorgos Papanikolaou, has given citizens a glimpse of how they will be able to enjoy the sun, beach and clear blue waters, during a time when the world is battling against the coronavirus pandemic.

"Our Award-winning beaches with blue flags, open and free as always, are ready to welcome bathers, with strict safety and hygiene rules," he posted.

The distances are necessary, as he characteristically commented: the image of Glyfada Beach looks "like embroidery on the sand."

In the post, Papanikolaou noted that a "lot of work" was undertaken, including the installation of new umbrellas, sun beds, lockers, showers and benches, "all in their new place!"

The images also depict how other stunning beaches in Greece will operate this summer.
