The emotional power of music, especially in times of crisis, has been demonstrated the past few weeks as the worldwide coronavirus crisis continues.
Giorgos Dalaras enters viewers homes and accompanies us with our favourite songs and melodies by Mikis Theodorakis and Vassilis Tsitsanis.
“Music is the only thing that unites people, it doesn’t include races, colours. It is the greatest power that man has. With patience and prudence we will succeed.”
Following the success of Antonis Remos and Anna Vissi, Dalaras gave audiences a special “Μένουμε Σπίτι” (Stay at home) performance on Friday night.
Joining him was Eleonora Zouganeli, Christos Mastoras, Dimitris Basis, Miltos Pashalidis, Aspasia Stratigou and Eleni Tsaligopoulou.
“We are called to do something paradoxical, to play music at a distance… we have some anchors that hold us. These anchors in the field of music are mainly two people… Tsitsanis and Theodorakis,” Dalaras explained.
He also dedicated the song “Την πόρτα ανοίγω το βράδυ” (I open the door at night) to all the musicians and technicians.
The songs of Mikis Theodorakis and Vassilis Tsitsanis that have been with us for decades, came to life once again on television.
