The Hellenic Police welcomed 70 new vehicles to their fleet. The cars are already painted in its colours and have been delivered to the specific regions, reported News Auto.
These vehicles were acquired in the framework of the implementation of the NSRF 2014-2020 "Active Road Safety" of the Attica Regions, Central Greece, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Western Macedonia, Ionian Islands, Epirus, Central Macedonia, Peloponnese and North Aegean.
It included Nissan Qashqai, Citroen Spacetourer, and Suzuki V-Strom motorcycles.
Specifically- 20 vehicles were acquired in the Peloponnese, 15 in Attica, 9 in Thessaloniki, 6 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 5 in Central Greece, 4 in Western Macedonia, 4 in the Ionian Sea. Islands, 4 in Epirus and 3 in the North Aegean.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year, a total of 564 vehicles have been received, including the 195 vehicles received in January, which were acquired in the context of the implementation of the NSRF 2014-2020 "Active Road Safety" and through the European Internal Security Fund were distributed in Attica, North and South Aegean, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Central and Western Macedonia, Central Greece, Ionian Islands, Crete and Epirus.
In March, 35 vehicles were acquired in the context of the implementation of the NSRF 2014 - 2020 "Active Road Safety" and were distributed in Argolida, Arcadia, Corinth, Laconia and Messinia. An additional 264 vehicles were acquired in April in the framework of the implementation of the NSRF 2014 - 2020 "Active Road Safety" and were distributed in Attica, Central Greece, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Western Macedonia, Ionian Islands, Epirus and North Aegean.
With the addition of these vehicles, the operational readiness and response of the local Police Services was significantly enhanced and upgraded, and the level of services provided for the benefit of society as a whole was improved.
Meanwhile, the Hellenic Police, in particular, the Immediate Action and the Crime Prevention Prevention Team (OPKE), conducted a wild pursuit of a migrant smuggler in Zagliveri, as reported by Greek City Times.
It all started when a car moving near Zagliveri village in Central Macedonia, 47 km east of Thessaloniki, aroused the suspicions of OPKE police officers with the latter asking for the assistance of Immediate Action.
