Popular Swedish furniture and houseware retailer, IKEA, will open its first "urban concept store", in the centre of Piraeus.
According to Fourlis which represents IKEA in Greece, this investment comes two years after the extremely successful operation of the IKEA Pop-up Store in the area, which received a warm response from the city of Piraeus.
It is a strategic decision based on the broader growth framework of the group, with the operation of new concept stores that aim to bring IKEA even closer to the consumer.
The 2,000 square meter store will located on central Gounari Street and is set to open in October, 2020.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover more than 1,000 unique codes, draw inspiration from the special exhibition space and acquire the most beautiful and functional products that will accompany their daily life from the department of home equipment. At the same time, specialised IKEA employees will be at the design centre daily to help customers design the wardrobe or kitchen they desire.
In addition, the store will have a restaurant and a Swedish food store, as well as a takeaway cafe on the ground floor.
