Impressive wooden cave in Trikala raises the architectural bar

By 4 years ago

An impressive cave made of wood, becomes the "diamond" of Hyades Mountain Resort, located on the edge of the lower district of Trikala Corinthias at an altitude of 1100 meters.

Τhe concept of a 'cave' was the primary inspiration for the 'Wooden Cave' designed by architects Apostolos Mitropoulos and Thanos Zervos from Tenon Architecture.

The "cave" that once provided shelter for humankind and protection from the natural elements has been transformed into a space of hospitality and leisure in the context of a contemporary resort.

The design, with its curved surfaces, and the choice of wood as the primary building material seek to recreate a warm and welcoming environment that retains the archetypical feeling of a natural shelter.

The cave includes two beds, an open kitchen, living room and a large bathroom, while the exterior is covered with stone.

The large windows allow natural light to flood the space.
