In a place more accustomed to golf clubs and tees, Athenians on Tuesday night gathered (in their cars) at Glyfada Golf Course for the first drive-in summer festival.

While the 'drive in' style had been disappearing around the world in recent years, the coronavirus pandemic seems to be reviving this form of entertainment.

The opening of Glyfada's first Drive-In Festival featured popular Greek singer Natasa Theodoridou. What made the night even better was the surprise appearance from Petros Iakovidis.

Together they sung her new song ‘Παραδόθηκα σε σένα’, with the music and lyrics written by Iakovidis.

Admission is free, however the Municipality is asking the public to donate food and medicine which will be collected and distributed to those in need.

Earlier this month Mayor of Glyfada, Georgios Papanikolaou said they “are preparing a summer festival, with absolute respect for the rules of public health protection, in a safe and controlled place."

It's a summer party we can all get behind.
