The Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) has confirmed that the second legs of the Greek Cup semi-finals will both be held on June 24.
On Friday afternoon, the EPO revealed that the Aris - AEK battle will be held in Thessaloniki at 19:00 local time on June 24, before Olympiacos host PAOK at the Karaiskakis Stadium at 21:30 on the same day. Both matches will be held behind closed doors unless the organisation makes a subsequent decision to the contrary.
Originally, the games were scheduled to be played in late April, but the coronavirus pandemic prevented that from happening.
In the first legs of the semi-finals, AEK defeated Aris 2-1 at the Olympic Stadium in a dramatic encounter, while PAOK edged a thriller with Olympiacos by a score of 3-2 to take a slender lead to Piraeus. It’s worth noting that the last three consecutive Greek Cup finals have been contested between AEK and PAOK.
As it stands, the final is set to be played at the OAKA in Athens, but there is a strong possibility that it will be moved to Thessaloniki if Aris and PAOK progress to the showpiece game.
