Greece’s summer solstice for 2020 is taking place today, Saturday, June 20, 2020!
The summer solstice is the longest day of the year where you can enjoy approximately 17 hours of daylight. In the northern hemisphere, summer solstice takes place between June 20 and 22.
The year’s brightest day, with the sun at its peak and a feeling that day will never turn into night, is one to highlight in your Greek summer calendar.
In astrological terms, the summer solstice marks the end of spring and start of summer for the northern hemisphere. It will end with the autumn equinox, which this year falls on 22 September.
Today, the sun will rise in Greece at around 6am in the morning and sets after 9pm at night.
This is also the time where you wish everyone a ‘Kalo Kalokairi’ (Happy Summer)!
