Restaurants in Greece included in the new Michelin Main Cities of Europe 2020 Guide

Over the weekend, the Michelin revealed the full 2020 selection of its new MICHELIN Guide Main Cities of Europe edition.

The guide which covers 1,850 restaurants in 39 different cities - including Athens, offers European travellers great places to eat for a memorable trip.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN guides said: “After the challenges of the last three months, I am delighted that the delayed launch of the MICHELIN guide Main Cities of Europe 2020 coincides with the gradual reopening of restaurants across Europe following a relaxation of restrictions implemented during the pandemic. These new awards highlight the range and quality of restaurants spread across the countries of Europe. We know that diners are keen to rediscover the joy of dining out. I also know our teams of inspectors share the same excitement and are looking forward to returning to eating out and highlighting the passion and creativity of chefs to our readers.”

The Michelin guide caters for every type of gastronome, from business traveller to tourist, and recommends the best places to eat and stay across all categories of comfort and price.

Athens- the Michelin Guide:

• Two Michelin stars: Spondi
• One Michelin star: Varoulko, Hytra and Botrini's
• Bib Gourmand ('good quality, good value restaurants'): Athiri, Nolan, Oikeio and 7 Food Sins.
• Michelin Plate ('fresh ingredients, carefully prepared'): GB Roof Garden, Electra Roof Garden, 2 Mazi, Cookoovaya, CTC Urban Gastronomy, Sushimou, Vezené, Aneton, Alficon, Birdman and Ergon House.
