Some 1,843 refugees from the island of Lesvos who were provided with documents of free movement, departed from the island from June 5 to June 25, officials announced on Thursday.
Of those, 56 left for Piraeus on Thursday night. The process will be repeated for more refugees in the next few days.
They are heading to their own destinations, as they are no longer covered by any program or organisation such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
According to the Migration & Asylum Ministry, the number of migrants applying for asylum who live in the Moria hotspot has dropped to 15,691.
The total number of people awaiting decision on the island of Lesvos total 17,806.
