Emirates is pulling out of the Adelaide market for the foreseeable future, due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19.
An Emirates spokesman said Adelaide was one of many cities where Emirates operations remain suspended due to ongoing travel or flight restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We hope to restart our operations in Adelaide when it is commercially and operationally feasible to do so in the future,” he said.

An Adelaide Airport spokesman said it was extremely disappointing news.
The Emirates Group, which includes airport services company dnata, employs around 5,600 people across Australia and estimates in 2019 it contributed more than $A790 million to the Australian economy.
Dnata employs over 41,000 people who handle passenger, cargo, ramp and technical services for airlines at Dubai International Airport. Globally, dnata also provides airport services to over 127 airports.
Since starting services in 1996, Emirates says it has carried more than 40 million passengers while investing over $A100 million in Australian arts, community and sports sponsorships.
Adelaide International Airport, is the principal airport of Adelaide, South Australia and the fifth-busiest airport in Australia, servicing 8.5 million passengers.
This comes as Greece, one of the destinations Emirates flies to, opened to tourism following the relaxation of coronavirus-related restrictions.
