The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, fired all the staff of the Albanian embassy in Athens, including the ambassador.
This was due to the embassy's poor performance and services to the Albanian community, according to Albanian media.
Without wasting time, Minister Cakaj also found a replacement for the dismissed ambassador, Ardiana Hobdari.
The Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed Luela Hajdaragaj, as Albania's ambassador to Athens.
Meanwhile, Air Albania which is 49% owned by Turkish airlines, is launching a number of European services this month.
Air Albania will begin routes to the Italian cities of Bergamo, Pisa and Verona from July 13. This will be followed by Frankfurt on July 20, and London Stansted on July 26.
