European Commission Vice-President for Promoting European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas stressed that the European Union had no intention on pacifying Turkey's attitide.
Schinas made the comments on Thursday during an online conference held by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce titled 'The Geopolitical Role of Greece as a Pillar of Stability and Cooperation: Serving as a Deterrent Force in the Eastern Mediterranean'.
During his talk the Commissioner clarified that pacifying Turkey's attitude "is not an option on the table," adding that EU institutions would explore options to respond accordingly "if Turkey does not change its attitude."
He also noted that "dialogue is an EU principle" and "it would be unthinkable for channels of communication and dialogue between the main actors in the region to collapse.
