The ATRS 2020 Global Airport Performance Benchmarking Task Force report released by the US-based Air Transport Research Society (ATRS) and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, has recognised Athens International Airport for its efficiency.
Athens International airport was the top efficiency performer for 2020, amongst airports in Europe that serve 15-25 million passengers per year.
The Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam was named top performer among European airports serving over 40 million passengers per year.
The ATRS Global Airport Benchmarking Report measures and compares the performance of several important aspects of airport operations: Productivity and efficiency, unit costs and cost competitiveness, financial results and airport charges.
“Efficiency is particularly of vital importance now as airports embark on their journey of recovery from the dramatic downturn inflicted by Covid 19,” the ATRS report said.
