A unique Greek architectural project, ‘Nonagriam Twins’, is in the finals for the 2020 'Architizer A+ Awards'.

The Architizer A+Awards is the largest awards program focused on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture and products. Its mission is to nurture the appreciation of meaningful architecture in the world and champion those products that are integral to bringing great buildings to life.

‘Nonagriam Twins’ was designed by Greek architectural firm A31, led by architect Praxitelis Kondylis and design team Iro Papadopoulou and Stefanos Nasopoulos.

Nestled among Andros’ wild mountains, fecund valleys and waterfalls, this complex consists of two detached houses covering in total 600m2 in a land of 9200m2.

Modern and rigorous, the properties offer high-end aesthetic, privacy and breathtaking vistas of the endless blue.

The underground abode features smart examples of energy-efficient architecture like geothermal heating and passive design that keep the interior comfortable while minimizing the need for heating or cooling in the winter and summer months.
