A letter of clear support for the Greek positions and condemnation of the Turkish provocation was sent to the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, by representatives of the Jewish and Greek communities in the US, in view of his meeting with Nikos Dendias today in Vienna.
The American Jewish Council CEO David Harris and the head of the Hellenic American Leadership Council, Endy Zemenides, note that Washington must respond clearly to the challenge posed by the Oruc Reis seismic mission.
They call on him to make it clear that the United States considers Turkey's continuing challenges to Greek and Cypriot sovereignty unacceptable, and to urge Ankara to immediately suspend Oruc Reis in order to resume dialogue.
