Naturally, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will claim he's standing up for Palestine, but in reality, this is just an expression of the war within the Sunni bloc of Islam, with Turkey and Qatar in one corner, and the Saudis and Emiratis in another corner, although in Yemen, the Saudis and Emiratis are fighting over the port city of Aden, so there's divisions there too.
Regardless, Turkey has served Israel.
By arming the "jihad" to overthrow the Syrian government, Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council [comprising of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates] were/are on the same side as Israel whether they like it or not.
According to Israeli Defense Force Chief Gadi Eisenkot, the Israelis "identified Syria as the weak link, where we could cut the Shia crescent," and to that end, Israel has acted as al-Qaeda's airforce in Syria, and supplied weapons and medical aid to [Turkish-supported] "moderate rebels."
Israel's main enemies have always been Syria, Iran and Hezbollah, not Turkey, who actually sold jet fuel to Israel during the 2014 Gaza War, and not the Saudis or Emiratis who are now in an open alliance with Israel.
It serves Turkey for the Palestinians to suffer.
Why?
Because every setback for Palestine only vindicates Erdoğan's preferred neo-Ottoman narrative, which is that Arab nationalists should feel guilty and ashamed for having betrayed the Ottoman empire in World War One. It follows therefore that before Palestine is liberated, every other former Ottoman territory must be reconquered by Turkey.
For Syria, Iran and Hezbollah, actually liberating Palestine is a geopolitical priority and objective. This is because Palestine has primarily always been a Syrian/Levantine struggle, whereas for Turkey and Qatar, Palestine is more of a burnt offering for the neo-Ottoman jihadist agenda. At least the Saudis and Emiratis are honest about their alliance with Israel!
