Authorities are carrying out randomized tests for the novel coronavirus on travellers returning to Athens from holidays on Sunday at the ports of Piraeus and Rafina.
Officials of the Region of Attica Coordination Center and the Athens Medical Association are administering and collecting the tests, a process that will continue to sunset.
The purpose they said was to identify cases testing positive to the virus and to remind people of the threat of spreading the SARS-CoV-2 virus to their social group, especially to vulnerable people.
Volunteers will also distribute information material on preventative measures and emphasize the threat of dispersion by asymptomatic cases.
