Greece's Stefanos Tsitsipas advances to the Western & Southern Open semi-finals for the first time.
His opponent, Reilly Opelka was forced to retire with a right knee injury down 5-6 in the first set of the quarterfinal.
"The question remains: Am I going to make it to the record books for playing the tallest players on the ATP consecutively, one after the other?" Tsitsipas said after the match. "I have to check it out. I don't think it has ever happened before."
Tsitsipas will now face former World No. 3 Milos Raonic for a spot in the final.
Yesterday, Maria Sakkari defeated former world No. 1 in women’s single tennis, Serena Williams. She will now face Briton Johanna Konta in the quaterfinal.
